Aunt Doris was very special: full of warmth, curiosity, caring, and energy for life. She had a twinkle in her eye and a playful humor, which made her delightful to talk to. When she spoke to you, you immediately sensed her open-heartedness and authentic interest in your life. I will miss her very much, and feel lucky to have had her in my life.
The gift she leaves behind, it seems, is the family she and Uncle Gerald raised. My thoughts are with Doris and Gerald's children, my cousins, who have clearly inherited their parents’ capacity for kindness and caring, humor and grace.
My condolences to them, and to the rest of Doris’s loving family.

Although I never had the opportunity to meet Doris, Marissa has told me about her extraordinary personality, her sense of humor and most of all the love and respect that she enjoyed from her family. I hope that your special memories will give each of you some comfort at this difficult time. Our family's thoughts are with you.

Dear Grandma,
We really miss you, but take reassurance in the fact that you are more comfortable up in heaven. We realize that you are with Papa, Mary, and Paul and that they are a very important part of your heart.
Love Always, Brianna and Kaila
