George Lawlor Obituary

LAWLOR, George "Buddy" Age 83, died Wednesday (Oct. 22, 2008) of Parkinson's in Lakeland, FL. Born in Malden, MA, Jan. 9, 1925, he was head custodian in the Malden School District. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, having served on the USS Suamico. He received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Mason. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church. Mr. Lawlor is survived by his daughters, Noreen Barrasso and her husband Al, Lakeland, and Sherrill Johnson, Everett, MA, sisters-in-law, Anne Mills and her husband Ray; Joan Shurtleff and her husband Harry and Marianne Shurtieff and her husband Richard; cousin, Tony Baleno, Billerica, MA; and sons, Kurt Gastonguay, Dennis Johnson, Jr.; granddaughters, Tina Johnson. Michelle Emerson, Corrine Emerson; 9 great grandchildren. A funeral was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday October 28, 2008 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Lanier Funeral Home

Mr. Lawlor,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USN in the Pacific during WW II when you served aboard the oiler USS Suamico(AO-49). And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
