A little late, sorry. Mr. Eddy was such a great teacher and guidance counselor. Every kid liked and respected him, as he genuinely liked and respected us. I remember him being very devoted to his mother and to the Virgin Mary. Such a kind, loving man.

Life is but a stopping place,
a pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
for some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
we'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
together with the Lord

I knew Bill Eddy when I was an admissions officer at Brandeis University, and he was Boston College High School's college advisor. He worked tirelessly for his students, and he was a thoroughly honest and honourable man. I always enjoyed working with him because he cared so much for the young men at his school. He made a positive difference to countless young people, and he deserves and got the greatest respect from those who knew him. He was also a truly humble man whose goodness and life of service to others was truly noteworthy.

I pause to honor Mr. Eddy.
He was my 9th grade teacher of Latin, English, and Civics at Broadmeadows Junior High School in Quincy, when it first opened in 1957. Our class loved this man who was such a free-spirit in the 1950s, something neither I nor my classmates had ever seen. He taught us Latin by teaching us to read things like the "Pater Noster". I had him 50 years ago, when he was a mere 38, I guess. Boy, he seemed old to us then, though! Bless you, Mr. Eddy. I have and will remember you fondly.
