David Sobol Obituary

SOBOL, David Of Dayville, CT, age 87, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Day Kimball Hospital. He was born March 25, 1921 in Ciechanow, Poland, the son of the late Leib and Ethel (Hack) Sobol. He married the late Bela (Kocitza) Sobol June 26, 1955 in Montreal, Canada. She predeceased him on March 26, 1999. He was a Holocaust survivor of Auschwitz and Dachau concentration camps. He was a former member of Temple Beth Israel in Danielson, CT and New American Society of Boston, MA. After World War II, David was a finish cabinet maker in the Boston area. Later in life, he found a second career as an egg farmer in Northeastern, CT. He is survived by his two sons, Lawrence Sobol and wife Virginia of Morristown, NJ, and Elliot Sobol and wife Beth of Colts Neck, NJ, grandchildren Daniel, Jacqueline, Zachary, Alexandra and Brooke Sobol. A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted Friday, Nov. 21st at 9:45 AM at Sharon Memorial Park, 120 Canton St., Sharon, MA 02067. The Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., NORWICH, CT 06360 is entrusted with arrangements.
