I have such fond memories of Dr. Friedman.
I gew up in the town of Rockland and we lived in the same neighborhood prior to the South Shore Medical Center's opening and his office moving there.
I can remember my parents (Ruth & George Schipper) calling Dr. Friedman's office for an appointment if myself or one of my family members were ill. So many times, Dr. Friedman would say, "Don't get them out of bed. I'll come to the house after office hours." We use to refer to them as "House Calls."
I still to this day have such vivid memories of Dr. Friedman walking through the door with his little black bag and "always" a smile, reinforcing to us, not to worry, he would make us all better in a jiffy.
For years, he would tell me at every visit, "You have the lungs of a chorus girl and the heart of a ballerina."
Often I find myself quietly thinking and wishing that life could be that simple once again.
Dr. Friedman was a great man who played a very BIG part part in our family's life. Not a year goes by where he is not referenced in conversations from time to time (and will be for years to come).
Please know that loving thoughts and prayers are being sent your way during this time of great sorrow.
Forever in my thoughts.
