Anna J. Canisius

CANISIUS, Anna J. (Widmer) Of Westwood, died Nov. 22nd. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Canisius. Loving mother of Joseph J. Canisius and his wife Beverly of West Roxbury, Ann Marie Cleaves and her late husband William of Hanover, Paula Balliro and her late husband Rudolph of Westwood, Barbara M. Lane and her husband John of Franklin, Peter Canisius and his wife Madeline of Foxboro, Katherine Nye of Hull and the late Joan Vendetti. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Anna was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) WESTWOOD on Monday Nov. 24th from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Tues. morning Nov. 25th at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary Church at 10am. Interment at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Anna was born in Wurtenberg, Germany and sailed to America on the S.S. Cleveland at the age of 17. She raised a family of seven and was strongly associated with German Holy Trinity Church in Boston as well as St. Margaret Mary Church in Westwood.
