To the Wilkins family,
I knew Chris for two years. He came to Physical Therapy in my office. He was the most caring patient I had on caseload. No matter what kind of day he was having, he would always walk in my office with a smile. He was kind and generous and you should feel lucky to have had such a wonderful person in your family. I am so sorry for your loss. Chris will be in my prayers

Andi Mullin

To the Wilkins Family,
My name is Andi Mullin and I knew Chris through AFSCME. I worked there for six years as the Council's lobbyist, and because local 1067 didn't get their collective bargaining agreement funded for almost 4 years, I worked with Chris as extensively as I did any member of the union. He was a tenacious, passionate, tireless, funny, darling person, and the tragedy of his passing at this young age leaves me speechless. I was always struck, after he was diagnosed with cancer, that he approached his illness the same way he approached getting that contract funded - he was persistent and relentless, and always gracious, in both victory and in defeat. Chris is one of the reasons I loved working at AFSCME so. It was such an honor and privilege to work for and with him - I was always so proud to represent him in the legislature. I don't imagine anything anyone can say will lessen the hurt of this terrible loss, or make it any more comprehensible. But please do know that your son made a mark on this world, and on me. He was so dedicated to helping other people stand up for themselves, and as such was and always will be an inspiration to me. My warmest thoughts are with you - and with my good friend Chris - as you navigate this difficult time. My very best to you all. In Solidarity,

Tammy & Shelley

To Our "Clare Bear" & Wilkins Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your familly in this time of sorrow. Though we never had the pleasure of getting to know Christopher, we certainly heard numerous loving and funny stories about his place in your family and hearts. How Blessed he was to know and feel the love of such a wonderful family. May your faith and wonderful memories keep smiles in your heart for Christopher forever.

Chris would do anything to improve the conditions and connections of our Union. In Honolulu at convention we thought it would be a good idea to say hello and shake Jesse Jackson's hand after he concluded a speech. Well we met Mr. Jackson but the look on his face and his entourage while meeting these two from Boston was priceless.
We won't forget you.

'death is not extinguishing the light;
it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.'
Rabindrananth Tagore

Aunt Sis, Uncle Dick, Nan, Clare, Billy and Greg, I am so very sorry for the pain you are feeling. Chris's beautiful smile, wit and kindness will remain in the thoughts and hearts of so many of us that loved him. I received the above quote as part of an email recently. Chris's new dawn has begun. May he rest in peace. You are all in my prayers, Maureen
