Edward Yalmokas Obituary

YALMOKAS, Edward R. Retired (BFD) of Quincy, formerly of South Boston and FL, died suddenly, November 26, 2008, surrounded by his family and friends. Beloved husband and best friend of 39 years of Lynda (Milisi) Yalmokas. Son of the late Joseph and Stella Yalmokas. Loving father of Edward Yalmokas of Quincy and Kevin Yalmokas, (BPD) and his wife Mary Ellen of West Barnstable. Devoted Papa of Joseph and Emma of West Barnstable. Loving brother of Richard and his wife Karen Yalmokas of NY, Joseph Yalmokas of FL and Carol Dalton of Braintree. Loving son-in-law of Agnes "Joey" Milisi of FL. Dear brother-in-law of Jennifer Kerrigan of FL, Rosemarie and Donald Rosemond, Thomas Milisi of South Boston, Cheryl Milisi and Tim Donovan, (BPD) of Dorchester, Joseph and Pam Milisi of NH, Robert & Amy Milisi of Weymouth and Michele Milisi of Dorchester. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Brigid's Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday, 2-8 PM. Interment Village Cemetery, 399 Washington Street, Weymouth, MA. USMC Veteran. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward's memory to The Boston Firefighters' Relief Fund, 115 South Hampton Street, Boston, MA 02118.

Mr. Yalmokas,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served in the USMC and secondly for the citizens of Boston when you served with the BFD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
