FERNANDES, John A. At 85 years, in Revere, formerly of Dorchester, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day). Beloved husband of 48 years to Jean A. (Henry). Devoted father of Cindy J. Nickerson & husband Wallace & John M. Fernandes, all of Revere, Dorothy DiGiorgio of Berwick, ME & Katie E. Fernandes of Leominster. Loving grandfather of Jon-Brian, William M. & Michael W. Nickerson, all of Revere, Francesca A. DiGiorgio & Anthony D. DiGiorgio, both of Winthrop, Jonathan Gould of Berwick, ME, Tara, John J. & Christopher Fernandes, all of Laconia, NH & Blake Croteau of Leominster. Also lovingly survived by several great-grandchildren. Family & friends are invited to attend a memorial graveside service on Friday, December 5, at 1 p.m. in the Blue Hills Cemetery, 700 West St., Braintree. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Former Proprietor of Johnny's Cab Company of Revere & Navy Veteran of WW II. Alumnus of Boston College, Class of 1950. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108 or to your favorite charity. Arrangements were completed by the Vertuccio Home for Funerals of REVERE.

Mr. Fernandes,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
