SISTER MARY PATRICIA CASSIDY, S.N.D. In Worcester, December 4, at age 85. With the Sisters of Notre Dame for 68 years. Born in Peabody, daughter of Thomas F. and Mary E. (McManus) Cassidy. Graduate of St. James H.S., Salem and Emmanuel College. Master Degrees from Salem State College and Fairfield Univ. High school teacher for 25 years in Notre Dame schools in MA, RI and CT, including St. Mary's in Lynn and St. John's in Peabody. In 1969, she shifted her ministry to parish religious education, serving several Churches in CT, before retiring in 1993. She leaves five nephews, Edward Cassidy of Hampton, NH, Paul Cassidy of Brooklyn, NY, Thomas Cassidy and Malcolm Cassidy, both in VT, and Benjamin Cassidy of NC; three nieces, Pat Cassidy of Salem, MA., Judy Buchino of Vienna, VA and Ellen Ribaldi of Marshfield, MA; many great-nieces and great-nephews, and her Sisters in Religion, the Sisters on Notre Dame. Her 3 brothers, Thomas, John and Joseph Cassidy, and a great-nephew, Michael Cassidy predeceased her. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 9, 3:30-6 PM at Notre Dame du Lac Chapel, 555 Plantation St., Worcester. Funeral Mass to follow at 6 PM in the Chapel. Burial in Notre Dame du Lac Cemetery, Worcester.
