John Flynn Obituary

FLYNN, John "Jack" 74, passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 in Racine, WI. He was born in Boston, MA on April 4th, 1934, the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Salmon) Flynn of Counties Mayo & Galway, Ireland. Jack graduated from Boston College in 1956, where he was a running back for the BC Eagles Football Team. He proudly served his country as a Captain and company commander in the US Marine Corps. He was also the USMC heavy weight Boxing champion. Jack loved sports and dedicating much of his time to helping his community. Jack was a trustee and chairman for the scholarship, and Golden Gloves Committees for the Agerholm-Gross Detachment League (Marine Corps), Chairman of Crime and Safety for Racine County [TRIAD]; former Chairman of the Golden Gloves of Wisconsin; a Silver medal winner at the National Senior Olympics for Volleyball. Jack was a loving and devoted father and true friend to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lynn Flynn of Chelmsford, his children Robin Flynn of Boston; Rondeau Flynn and his wife Pamela of Braintree; sister Mary and husband Joe Findlen of Dedham; brother Steve Flynn and wife Eileen of Chelmsford; his friend June Pomaville and his dog Mindy. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends from the Boston and Racine Communities. A Memorial Service will be held at Mission Church at a later date.

Mr. Flynn,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
