BARRY, Garrett George Age 89, of Roslindale, (BPD Ret.) December 1, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy I. (Smith) Barry. Devoted father of Sr. Barbara A. Barry, SND of Milton and John J. Barry and his wife Patrice of Randolph. Loving grandfather of Michael, Lauren and Julianne Barry. Predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. Also survived by loving nephews, nieces and in laws. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY on Tuesday December 9, 2008 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church at 10 o'clock. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited, Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery. Retired Sergeant of the Boston Police Department and proud Army Veteran WW II, South Pacific. Sgt. Barry,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific fighting the Japanese during WW II and secondly for the citizens of Boston when you served with the BPD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
