Leo Shields Obituary

SHIELS, Leo G. Age 76, of West Palm Beach, FL and Centerville, formerly of Medfield, December 10, 2008. Beloved husband of Gertrude (Brooks) Shiels. Loving father of Tom Shiels of Bellingham, Dan Shiels and wife Jean of Norfolk, Ron Shiels of Holliston, Diane Bettencourt and husband A.J. of Stewart, FL, and Karen Bossio and husband Brian of Barnstable. Brother of Margaret Newton of Medway, James Shiels and wife Grace of Walpole, Peter Shiels and wife Marie of Medfield, and the late Mary Whitney. Also survived by thirteen grandchildren; David, Brian, Lisa, Justin, Sarah, Matt, Colin, Makayla, Tyler, Brandon, Brittany, Shawn, and Allison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring Street, Medfield, on Monday, Dec. 15th at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Vine Lake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller St., MEDFIELD, Sunday 2-6 p.m. If desired, donations may be made in Leo's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
