Shelly added much to those he touched. His dry wit and sensitivity made knowing him a true pleasure. A busy man, he still found the timeo spread his kindness and joy. My condolences to Ellie, Evan, Marina and Alison.

Shellie was one of my really closest friends. BLS, Pioneers, double dates - we were really bonded. We enjoyed the grand 50th Reunion at BLS and at Leo's, as well as a memorable Pioneers gathering in '96. I have not words to express the loss. I am with Ellie and all those who loved him.

I first met Shelley my senior year at Boston Latin and since then had the opportunity and the privilege to work with him on a number of projects. His vision and his passion for human rights and social justice lives on in the hundreds and hundreds of students who have taken the Facing History course at Boston Latin which he so generously supported with his time, his vision, his personal funds and his heart. He will be remembered as a wonderfully caring and accomplished gentleman; and he is already sorely missed.

Shelley Seevak was the most erudite, devoted, and generous man I have ever met. The program he established at Boston Latin School and the legions of students who have participated and grown from that program are a testament to his vision. I am so grateful to have known him and worked with him to realize that vision. He will be missed and remembered.

We have established a tribute page to Shelley that will allow these tributes to remain permanently online. All are invited to contribute:www.learntoquestion.com/seevak/tributes

I remember Shelly as a classmate who was very nice and extremely intelligent, with a good sense of humor. I know that his family and close friends will miss him greatly.

Shelly was the nicest, nicest, man; a DEAR friend to my mother; and, with Ellie, a spectacularly generous supporter of the Democratic Party -- one of the many ways he tried to help make the world better. It is a rainy day, indeed.

The world lost a very good man this past weekend. For many years, Mr. Sheldon Seevak poured his time, money, and soul into establishing and maintaining the Facing History and Ourselves organization at the Boston Latin School. It is thanks to him that the course thrives today. A kinder and better man one would be hard-pressed to find.
The following URL is the web address of a page, associated with the Facing History program, where those whose lives he touched are encouraged to leave a tribute.

As a Fellow BLS classmate, I remember Shelly as a warm, friendly, and serious student. I particularly remember his fine, auburn hair (mine went the same way). My condolences to Ellie and the rest of the family. He was a true prince!
