Anast W. Giokas

Of St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham, formerly of Wellesley Green, August 20, age 91. Husband of 70 years to the late Sophia E. Giokas, who died in 2006. Born in Chickopee, MA, he was also raised and educated there. Upon graduation from High School in 1933, he joined the Youth Centre-Cinderella Shops full time, progressing from displayman to buyer to Advertising Director. Since acquisition by Stop & Shop, served as Vice President, Director of Sales Promotion for Bradlees Dept. Stores and Shop & Shop Supermarket Companies. Mr. Giokas was an active and founding member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston. He is survived by his children William A. Giokas and his wife Cynthia of Holliston, Christine Gramenopoulos and her husband Nicholas of Fairfax Station, VA, his grandchildren, David, Lisa, and Erica Giokas, C. Gregory Gramenopoulos and his wife Maya, Steven Gramenopoulos and his wife Nicole and their son Nicholas. He was grandfather of the late Ellen Gramenopoulos. Funeral Service on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St., Weston at 10 AM. Visitation prior to Service at Church, 9-10 AM.
