Mary Bell Obituary

83, of Lake Drive in Virginia Beach passed away on August 20, 2007. Mrs. Bell was born in Cambridge, MA and was the daughter of the late Patrick James O'Brien and Mary Ellen Doyle. Mrs. Bell was the widow of Andrew Dalton Bell, to whom she was married for 54 years. She was a member and attended Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Mary was predeceased by her brother, the late William O'Brien of Coronado, CA, and her sister, Katherine Keane of Charlestown, MA. Survivors include her sister, Eleanor Chisholm of Charlestown, MA Her brothers Arthur Joseph O'Brien of Coronado, CA and Thomas F. O'Brien of Billerica, MA. Mary loved children and provided her family and friends with daycare and babysitting services. Mary never knew a stranger and had the ability to find the good in everyone. Her wonderful sense of humor was shared by many, especially her extended families in Virginia and Massachusetts. She leaves behind to mourn not only her siblings but numerous nieces and nephews that have wonderful memories of her laughter, her wisdom, and her selfless ways. She will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Monday, August 27, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel by Father Esteban DeLeon. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Because of her love for animals, the family is asking that memorial donations be made to the Virginia Beach S.P.C.A.
