I only met Uncle Dick a few times, but he left a lasting impression of kindness. I think for my mother, Elaine Lawless, he was a reminder of her own father, Pete, Dick's younger brother.
I'll say a prayer tonight for Uncle Dick. "He was a man, take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again."

to the whole Lawless family,
another sweet soul has passed, though we are blessed with the memory of many laughs and much love.
God Bless and our thoughts are with you.

A kinder soul than Dick has never walked this planet. I will always remember the light and love that was and is Uncle Dick. He brought joy to all that were lucky enough to know him.
Dick had the heart of a lion and was the most selfless person I have ever known. The countless hours that he spent with my mother (his sister Helen) prior to her passing will be etched in my memory forever.
To Gertrude, all of Dick’s children, spouses, grand children, and great grand children I send my heart felt sympathy. And, I know that from heaven he will hold you all in the palm of his hand until you meet again.

Thinking of all the Lawless Family. We'll always remember Dick as a very kind person and all the good times and laughs on Avalon Road, and all the special times we had over the years together. We wish we could be there in person to pay our respects.

I guess heaven has received some real characters lately. He was one of the nicest, funniest and humble men I ever met. He always looked like he was thinking of something funny, while listening to you. He will be greatly missed, I'm so glad I got to his party. My heart goes out to the whole family for your second loss in such a short period. We are here for you if anyone needs anything. Love, Brian and family.

I will never forget Dick's fabulous sense of humor and keen intellect. He was a wonderful uncle who will be sorely missed. His soul is beaming just as brightly in heaven as it was on earth. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Gertrude, his children and grandchildren.

A gentler soul than his, I cannot imagine. We will miss his humor and his humility, as well as his clear insights. Godspeed, Dick, until we meet again at "the big gathering"...

What a "class act" Dick Lawless was! What a legacy to have been so well liked by so many. All of us in the extended Lawless clan were blessed to have shared part of his journey on earth. I can only imagine the joy in heaven of those who have welcomed him home, especially Chris.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Gertrude, Richard, Peter, Betsy, their spouses and his grandchildren.
