It is almost a year since Walter's death and the year of "firsts" have been difficult. However, with the support of family and friends and the help of God, I've made it through.

I want to thank all of the family and friends that participated in the 1st Annual Walter Hanson Memorial Golf Tournament that helped raise $4,673.37 for the Jimmy Fund. It was because he touched so many people's lives and was so willing to share a smile and give a friendly "Good Morning" that people were so willing to give to a cause that meant so much to him.

Although the "Love of My Life" is no longer a physical part of my life, his memory always will be and I will be forever grateful for the time we were able to share.

I wanted to take a moment to add my thoughts. I have seen many brothers and sisters-in-law come and go in our family. Though his entry was quiet, he claimed his place when he got there. Few earned the love and respect he can claim. I will miss him, always. Paul.

I worked 15 years at BCBSMA and indirectly with Walter Hanson for almost 5 years. Walter was always a great person to work with and a guy you could always trust to tell you the truth and from the hip. I always apppreciated his frankness, honesty and genuine friendship.

Deb and the Hanson Family, I'll say it, but you'll probably hear it thousands of times more. Walter was a gentleman and always treated those he knew and worked with as any gentleman would, with kindness and respect. I can never remember Walter with anything but a smile on his face and a kind or humorous word for all those he came in contact with. I say this from the heart, that I'm a better person for knowing Walter and Heaven now enjoys his company. My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences. Sincerely, Paul

Anyone who knew you Harry (Walter) knew you as truly a great person. Harry you were like a Father to some and a Brother to others, and of coarse and most importantly you were a Loan Shark (interest free) and a Bail Bondsman to others, you were a referee to some and a counselor to others. You were not only a great co-worker you were truly a great friend to all. When people worked with you it was always a pleasure because through all the struggles of getting the job done, you were always right there to help out in anyway you could.

When you worked for Harry you really never felt like he was your boss, but instead your teammate the ultimate teammate, someone you would want with you in your foxhole. Harry, I am sure this is not only coming from me, but from everyone who knew you. It has been a great pleasure to have worked with you for what seems like forever and to have had you as a friend and teammate all these years.

May God bless you Harry and Hit em Straight!

My thoughts and prayers are with you
