Ellen Berger Obituary

Who together with her late husband, composer Arthur Berger, was an active member of the Outer Cape arts community, passed away at her beloved Truro home on August 21. Born in Germany in 1922, her family fled to Berkeley, California when she was a teenager. Educated at University of California at Berkeley she became a Child Psychologist. She was a Staff Psychologist and Supervisor at the Judge Baker Guidance Center in Boston and a summer painter until she retired and devoted herself to making and exhibiting her work in Cambridge and on the Cape. She was a member of the Provincetown Art Association as well as the Cambridge Center. Her outgoing social presence and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by her many friends. She is survived by her sister Renata Strauss of Seattle, and her nieces Shawna Kent of New York City, Jamie Cohon of Seattle, Washington, Ellen Feingold of Newton, Massachusetts, other nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews and many devoted friends. A memorial meeting will be held in Cambridge, MA in October.
