To the Finn Family,
My condolences to all of you at this time. I am sorry I am not with you now. I Knew John as being a perfect gentleman whom I would speak with often at the Community Center. He will always be remembered for keeping us up to date on the water tempeture ~ spring summer winter or fall. The fellas at L St. are going to definetly miss him.
I have known John for close to 30 years. He always showed up at 3:00 pm to take the temperture.
My Prayers are with you all at this time.

Mr. Finn,
Sir, I didn't know you, but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I will never forget John's many kindnesses to me, such as the magic handshake when seeing me off at the airport to return to Fort Dix.How kind and patient he was with my Mother, who loved him like a son but for some reason always called him John Finn. How he enjoyed my Mother's careful tracking of those big winter storms although she had long since retired and had no need to venture out in the bad weather. I think of the many laughs John and I shared about working on the"T".I think of what a wonderful father he was and how much he enjoyed his children. I think of that great smile that just lit up the room and his craftsmanship with a set of tools. John never sought the limelight( he took his swim on New Years day when the TV cameras had all packed up and left the "L".His charity work and his devotion to his Faith were all done in his own quiet way, but I have a feeling he will not be able to avoid the spotlight in Heaven.

Dear Pat and family:
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of John. Although we only knew you for a few summers at the farm, we knew how important family is to you.
So, from one "farm" family to another please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
