Evelyn M. Killilea

92, was called safely home on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at Chapin Center. Evelyn was born in Canada on March 10, 1915, a daughter of the late Alfred and Marie (Robichaud) Vautour. She was one of thirteen children who were raised in Canada and came to the United States as a young woman. She was predeceased by six brothers, Joseph, Emil, Francois, Albert, August and Edmund as well as four sisters, Rosalie, Louise, Yvonne and Auralie. Evelyn was primarily a homemaker and had worked in the Waltham area where she had settled. She married Francis Killilea, who later died on Feb. 10, 2000. She was a member of Le Club at St. Paul's Church and a longtime communicant of the parish. Evelyn was also active at the East Longmeadow Senior Center and enjoyed taking care of others. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Claire M. Scavone and her husband Gerry of Springfield; two sisters, Ida Mailette and Simone Doucette both of Canada; a sister in law, Maryann Killilea of Arizona and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. The family would like to thank Cyndi Atkins, Cynthia and Jannie and all the staff at Chapin Center who cared so well for Evelyn. A funeral ceremony will begin at 9:30 AM from the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., EAST LONGMEADOW followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Paul's Church, Dwight Rd., Springfield. The burial will be held at 1:30 PM in Holy Hood Cemetery, Brookline, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
