Please accept our heartfelt sympathy and condolences in your hour of sorrow. I am sorry I am unable to extend them to you in person but be assured I will remember Marie and all of you in my prayers. Many happy times and memories come to mind when we were neighbors in Charlestown for so many years. As for me, every time I come over the "high bridge" in Charlestown I will vision Marie hurrying along, at an envious clip, with her bundles. As for my family, school days and childhood days are often mentioned at their get togethers. Be happy in the thought that your mother now rests in the Arms of Our Blessed Lord and His Blessed Mother whom she loved so well.
Sincerely,
Dot Collins and Family

To the Castor family - I first came to know the Castor family well over fifty years ago as Jackie and I were "best friends." Mrs. Castor was a devoted mother and wife who always welomed us into her home on Monument Square. She is a very important part of so many of my memories of Charlestown and our younger days. She always has been part of the fabric of my life. I shall miss her. My sincere condolences to the Castor family.

To the children, their spouses, the Grandchildren and all the relatives and friends of Marie:
I was deeply sadded to hear of Marie's death. While not having seen her for years, it does not for an instant mean that I have forgotten the many happy days we had growing up as neighbors in Charlestown. Reading her obituary, I was further saddened to learn that she is the last of a very large and wonderful family. I had the great pleasure of working with your Dad at District 7 in the late 1960's and he was a truly honorable and pleasurable person to work with. Then Joe, one of the nicest guys to ever come out of Charlestown, dying so unexpectedly and at such a young age. Of course, who can forget Betty and Dan, who started out with a paper route as a young fellow and made it into a huge operation. I dislike mentioning names as I could mention everyone of the Herlihys but I would be remiss if I failed to mention Marie's brother, Bill. I had the honor of working several years with Bill at Station 4 and a finer man never wore the uniform of a Boston Police Officer. So the years fly by but the memories never fade.
I mention the above to let you know how well I knew the family and how much I treasure the memories of your mother and her entire family.
I pray that God has met her at the Gates of Paradise and as only an all-loving Father can do, has put His arm around Marie's shoulder, given her a gentle hug and said, "Enter, Marie, into your Father's Kingdom where your many relatives and friends await you and where there will be no more tears or the weeping or gnashing of teeth. Well done, My good and faithful servant."
My wife, Barbara joins me in offering our condolences and prayers for Marie's family to give them the strength to get through this difficult ordeal which confronts them. May God Bless all of You.
With all our love,
Kevin Honohan
