Of Malden, Sept. 6, 2007. Beloved husband of Elaine V. (Aiken) Benton. Devoted father of James W. Benton Jr. of Malden, Michael C. Benton of Swampscott, Elaine V. Archdeacon of Bedford, NH and Steven R. Benton of Suwanne, GA. Loving brother of Helen Barnes and Arthur Benson both of Chelsea and the late John Benton, Robert Benton and Jean Gillis. Jim was the cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren & two great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., MALDEN, on Monday, Sept. 10th. at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St. Malden at 10 AM. Burial will immediately follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday Sept. 9th from 4-8 PM.
