In his 94th year of South Hutchinson Island FL, previously of Newton Highlands on Sept 9, 2007 surrounded by his family in their home in Newton. Beloved husband for 68 years of the late Mary C. "Mae" (Mahoney) Tormey. Devoted father to Martin Jr. and his wife Mary Ann, Judith McDowell and her late husband Denis, Richard and his wife Jan all of Newton and Paul and his wife Pam of Wellesley. Loving brother of the late Eleanor Benham, and his late brothers; Dana, Donald and Leonard Tormey. Inspirational grandfather of Kevin Tormey of Needham, Karen Brown of New Canaan CT, Greg Tormey of Boston, Meredith McDowell of Boston, Diane Conuel of Ithaca NY, Joanna Larsen of Highlands Ranch CO, Jennie Tormey of Hoboken NJ, Beth Tormey of Boston and Rick Tormey of Brooklyn NY. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral will be from the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre St., NEWTON CORNER, on Weds., Sept. 12 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Newton Centre at 10 AM.
