Sr. Marion was a close friend of my Aunt Carol's (Sister Carolyn Walsh) so I consider myself blessed to have had multiple opportunities to experience her intellect, humor and modesty. She was a teacher in the best sense through and through -- her gentle yet insightful observations made my entire family better people for having known her.

Sr. Marion was a wonderful person. She was very caring and compassionate. In an age where many are quick to criticize, she was an encourager. Sr. Marion was an excellent listener. I fondly remember many times when she and Aunt Carol would be at our home in Wellesley.

Thanks for the opportunity to recognize and remember someone so special!! I don't have one specific memory to share....but an early childhood filled with Sr. Marion's beautiful smile, welcoming grace and constant acceptance. She was a great friend to my Aunt Carol, and therefore to us. I remember her so clearly and the warmth and safety that eminated from her presence. I feel grateful to have known someone so amazing. Thank you!

Our family enjoyed Sr. Marion and her quiet ways for many, many years. She was Sr. Ronan (Carol Walsh’s) companion and would visit the Newton Walsh residence as often as possible. When our daughters were very young, Sr. Marion would bring some clothing her mother would give her that Jogues’ nieces had outgrown. We once visited her homstead and meet Mr. Walsh, her dad, with a grandchild asleep on his lap.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations as well as back yard picnics with Sr. Marion and Carol. Last year we saw Sr. Marion at a dedication ceremony in Memory of Jeanne (Walsh) Garrett and have a fantastic picture of those in attendance. We’ll continue to remember Sr. Marion and all her family in our thoughts and prayers. God grant her eternal peace.

I always thought of Sr. Marion as a warm and kind person. She was such a good friend of my Aunt Carol's. She would always have something sweet to share with my siblings and I when we were growing up. May she rest and find peace in God's Kingdom.

Sister Jogues was one of the most brilliant people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She was one of my teachers the year my father died and her support during that time was a gift to me. Her encouragement and presence are gifts I will never forget. May her memory be a blessing. Christine Sorensen Woodside
