Gertrude Sowles Obituary

101 at Clark House, Westwood, formerly of Wellesley, on Sept 8. Born in Walla Walla, WA July 13, 1906. A graduate of Whitman College and Columbia University Teachers College. She married Boston dentist Homer C. Sowles in 1933. She was predeceased by him and two step-daughters Madeline Sowles and Betty Sowles Bickford. She leaves her son, James H. Sowles and his wife, Sydney of Chestnut Hill, her son-in-law George H. Bickford of Greensboro, VT and grandchildren Susan A. Bickford of Mountain View, CA; Palma A. Bickford and her husband, Douglas Steely, of Marblehead and Robert S. Bickford and his wife, Elizabeth, of Ashland, VA; Nicholas P. Sowles and his wife, Penny, of Roslindale; Thomas B.S. Sowles and his wife, Whitney, of Jamaica Plain; and four great grandchildren. Graveside service Sept 29. 11:30 AM in Lincoln-Noyes Cemetary, Greensboro, VT. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Greensboro Free Library. Greensboro, VT 05841
