Dear Joan, I was in our old neighborhood last week, driving by our Filbert and Steiner apartments. What wonderful memories of you, Joan, and our roommates. You're up in Heaven now, however, my memories of a sweet, dear friend will always be with me. Joanne Lee

Hey Joan,
We just returned from San Francisco and went by 2345 Filbert St. Guess what???? No vacancy sign hanging! Totally a first time for ÖUR" building! We all have such great memories of our days there and the fantastic friendships that were made. We know your days in heaven will be as special as our days spent on Filbert. We look forward to seeing you again, your Dorothy Hammil haircut, and your genuine smile.
Lots of love,

I have wonderful memories of our times in San Francisco going out with the girls. I know you are very comfortable now and watching over all of us and sending your love as I send you all my love.

Dear Joan (my Maid of Honor),
The poem that you read so eloquently in our wedding keeps running through my head, especially the line,"I who have died am alive again today." I know you are in a better place now. I know you've been released. You are in my heart. Please keep me in yours. God bless you and your family. Love, Kathy (Dumbrille)Bremner

My dearest Joan, I was hoping to see you next week but you didn't wait for me. I consider you one of my dearst friends and I'm sure you are very happy now looking down on all of us, watching what we are doing. I hope you got my phone call last month when I wantdered past our old abodes in the Mission in San Francisco. I have such fond memories of all our times together in San Francisco and Berkeley. I couldn't have asked for a better friend. I also remember a lot of nice dinners in NY when I would come to visit. I somehow was able to follow you wherever you went. I'll miss our little visit at The Boston Home in your nice, sunny room. All my love, Kelly
