Samuel Modoono Obituary

Born in Lexington, Massachusetts, Sam graduated from Boston University and went on to earn a doctorate in Psychology from SUNY at Stony Brook. After a fulfilling tenure at Lesley College as a Psychology Professor, Sam entered the field of management consulting and executive coaching, and was the General Manager of the Norwalk, Boston and New York offices of the Hay Group. A devoted family man, Sam created welcoming and loving homes in Wellfleet, East Hampton, and West Palm Beach and enjoyed a deep connection to these sanctuaries. He was happiest swimming in his pool, tending to his gardens, and creating a safe haven for neighborhood birds. Sam is survived by his loving wife, Jane Kiriacon Modoono, and their children, Chris and Tanya. He had a love/hate relationship with his dog, Chloe. Visiting hours are from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Yardley & Pino Funeral Home, 94 Pantigo Rd., (Rte 27), East Hampton, NY 11937. Funeral is at 11:00 on Friday followed by interment at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in East Hampton.

Shocked and saddened to learn of Sam's passing from a mutual High School pal just last night.

First met Sam in our religious training classes for our Church Confirmation, so long, long ago.

My heart goes out to Jane and their two children, and to all The Modoono Family of Lexington.

I was saddened to hear of Sam's passing. We were good friends in Jr High and High School. Having lost touch with Sam over the years, I was heartened to hear of his many acheivements.

Although I never worked very closely with Sam at Hay, I always looked forward to my interactions with him. Simply put (but heartfelt) Sam was a very nice man. He always made me smile, and that's what I'll remember. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
