Kilman Steele Obituary

In Biddeford, ME, Sept. 11, 2007, formerly of Manchester, MA and Prouts Neck, ME, peacefully with his family beside him after a long illness, born Oct. 30, 1938 in Boston, he was the only son of the late Elinor Fairfield Steele and the late George Vernon Steele of Dedham, MA. He was the loving father of Lockhart Steele of N.Y.C., N.Y. and of George Fairfield Steele of Cambridge, MA and the husband of Carol Knowles Steele of Prides Crossing, MA. A graduate of Nichols College, he attended Middlesex School and Vermont Academy. For 32 years he was the Sales Manager of Sexton Can Company of Everett and Cambridge, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of Independent Care of Portland, ME. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to St. James Church, Prouts Neck, ME 04074 or to Vermont Academy, Saxtons River, VT 05154. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Beverly Farms, MA on Thurs., Sept. 20, at 11 a.m.

Kilman was a wondeful person and I will miss the talks we would have about his life. The 99 will not be the same without his smiling face everyday. I will miss him so very much. Rest now my friend.

I worked many years ago as a Police Officer in Prouts Neck and will always remember M.r Steele - He was a great person to talk with.

Kilman was such a loving and giving friend to all of us at the "99" restaurant in Biddeford,ME. We are all very sad and miss him very much already. We love you Kilman and you will be in ours hearts forever!!

Carole, Lockhart and George,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all at such a difficult time. Kilman was such fun to chat with over the years-whether at Prouts or visiting me at my office in Manchester or my visits to see him in Beverly. I have lost a nice friend.
