My deepest sympathy to the Summergrads. I have been a dear friend of the family for 50 years. Millie and Leo, my prayers and love are with you and Paul and the whole family during your time of grief. May my words be of comfort.

Eric was one of my few close friends in High School. He was so obviously brilliant and he had the most wonderful sense of humor. I hadn't seen Eric in years and this news shocks and saddens me beyond belief. I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to his parents and the rest of his family.

I knew Eric in the early 1980's when he was a young lawyer at Arnold & Porter representing the plaintiffs in a pro bono employment discrimination case involving Western Electric. He was a formidable adversary, with a very powerful intellect and he was an excellent writer. I would come across his work years later when he was at the SEC and it was clear that he had found a home there and that his contributions to the agency were significant. I am very saddened by his death and send his family my deepest sympathies.
