I will miss George lighting up special services at All Saints with his presence, and with his wonderful ability to clear any room of its stuffiness. And I will miss Peeps, who has always had more strength than she will ever know and with whom I was honored to serve as Warden at All Saints. My wife Gail was honored to serve with Peeps on Altar Guild, and had many enjoyable moments of sharing. But most of all, we will miss them as a couple whose love for one another was so apparent, and absolutely inspirational. Their children were most fortunate to have had such parents.

I am sorry to hear this news and hope that the many wonderful memories serve as a great comfort to you all. I remember babysitting for you three "children". Belmont was such a wonderful place to grow up, and the Olive family was a big part of that.

I will always remember Dr Olive fondly. He delivered me, his first premie, back in 1949. He was very proud and happy that I made it and was healthy; except for my eye sight. He became my opthomoligist and was my doctor and friend till he retired. I extend my sympathies to his family. I was very fortunate to have him in my life.

So very sorry to read about the death of Dr. George Olive. I go way back with the Olive's, back to George senior who used to make me ice cream cones in his drugstore in Belmont Center. The bank is there now. My parents were good friends of the senior Olives as well as the junior. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Peeps was a treaure to know. We miss her also.

There are so many memories of both George and Peeps from our All Saint's days. George was also our family opthamologist. Both of you were an inspiration to this young mother and father. May our Lord watch over all of you during this time of loss and memories.

Dr. Olive,
Sir I didn't know you, but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Please accept our profound condolences on George's passing. He was a wonderful man, who always had a twinkle in his eye, a joke to share, and a kind word. George and Peeps sponsored us for membership in the Belmont Hill Club, a gesture that we will always appreciate. We always trusted George to carefully examine our vision and prescribe exactly the right glasses for us. I remember that George would usually spend his sunday mornings playing tennis at the Club. However, those sundays when he joined Peeps and the rest of us in worship were special days. George loved his family and his community. His passing is sad news to those of us who knew him. May he rest in peace.

A flood of memories, from Belmont to Kezar. Our thoughts are with all of you. A time to be sad, yes, but a time to celebrate a life so well lived and well loved.
Play a few chimes for him...

I first met George and Peeps in 1996. At first it was in a professional capacity as their financial advisor. Eventually my wife, Ginger and I became very fond of both George and Peeps.
They came to dinner at our home in Stow, MA and we would go to Carleton Willard and have cocktails and appetizers in their condo and then go to dinner in the CW dining room and share stories of our families. Sometimes we picked them up and went to local restaurants. I also grew up in Belmont, so we knew many of the same places and people.
We vacationed in Maine, sometimes in Sunday River. Several times Ginger and I went to Centre Lovell, sat in the yard and talked about many things. One of those was how they were reading books to each other at the time. Once they took us out on the lake in George's boat and told us the history of the lake and showed us the loons and other wildlife there. On one particular day, I made reservations at the Inn, which the owners then had won in an essay contest. The food and company was wonderful and we didn't have to worry about driving, as the Inn was at the head of their street.
George was a funny, entertaining character and Ginger and I will miss him very much. We were very fond of him.
