o the family of Bill Kelly,

I’m sitting here stunned. I’ve lost a good friend.

We just saw him at our bereavement group meeting yesterday afternoon. He talked quite a bit, telling us about his weekend trip to North Carolina to see his grandson. He also mentioned meeting a granddaughter for a meal.

He also said to us, how much he had learned from being with us in the group. This was almost a goodby message.

He also talked about his 3 sons: Jim, John, and Kevin and daughter Kate, and their mates. He credits his late wife, Barbara, for the excellent child rearing—but we always said—look, you were there also.

He came to my birthday party a week ago, and literally had us in stitches telling us stories. He was always interested in us, so I know how he was with his family, always talking about his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He felt badly that he wasn’t as educated as us. But we told him, he joined our group and stayed with us. We told him how much he got along with his family. We told him how he managed to get raises for his group of mechanics. We told him to have such an important job (I think with Hess) he had plenty of smarts.

I know how much he will be missed by his family and friends.

I’m so sorry.

Sincerely,

Bette S. Feinstein
