Jordan Powers Obituary

59, of Brookline, MA, died September 22, 2007 surrounded by family. He was a loving husband to Linda Powers for 27 years and devoted father to Max Aidan Powers and Jean Holiday Powers. Jordan also leaves behind family including brother Tracy Norton, sisters Connie Friedman and Allison Jorgensen, and niece Sarah McGuffin. He was born in Salem, MA to Geneva (McLaughlin) and Robert Powers, grew up in Waltham and Newton, MA and graduated from Newton High School (1966) and Oberlin College (1976). Love and loyalty to family and friends, as well as a passion for jazz and literature, drove his life. "Let him be whomever you wish. Like a fluttering candle/into a stormlamp, I place myself there inside him./ A glow becomes peaceful. May death/ more easily find its way." (Rilke, "The Spanish Trilogy")

Linda, Max and Holly my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so sorry for your loss. You all have many friends here at the PCC, just lean on us when needed. Take care of each other.
