Roderick Carmichael Obituary

89, formerly of Norwood, died Sept. 22 at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton, MA. His wife Ada "Peggy" (Stewart) and his brother John predeceased him. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Christian Science Monitor as a printer. He was a WW2 Army Veteran and recipient of several awards and medals including a bronze star. Past Grand Master of Eliot-Hyde Park Masonic Lodge. His niece Nancy Austin and her family survive him. Calling time Fri. 10-10:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30 at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St., NORWOOD. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. I took care of Rod for many years in Charlton, and he was always a sight for sore eyes. Smiling, joking, and always ready to lend a hand. He cared about others around him, even when he was in need. God Bless You, Rod... I'll miss you.

Mr. Carmichael,
Sir, I didn't know you, but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
