Joseph Thornton

Of Pocasset, formerly of Westwood, died Tuesday, September 25, age 71, after a brief illness. Loving husband of Mary Lou (Bensman). Devoted father of Ted Thornton and his wife Lisa of Scituate, Lynn Colebank and her husband, Mark of RI, Lori Whelan and her husband Brian of Walpole. Predeceased by son, Jack of Richmond, VA. Also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and his Aunt Betty of FL. Raised in Scituate, he attended Archbishop Williams High School, Class of 1954 and Boston College, Class of 1958. Prior to retiring in 2004, he was the owner/ CEO of Multitemp Mechanical. Favorite pastimes include flying, boating and ham radios. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 28, 2007 in St. John the Evangelist Church, 841 Shore Road, Pocasset. The interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery. The visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy., (RT 28A) WEST FALMOUTH.
