Dear Carol and Family,
I was deeply saddened when I learned about Rodger's passing.
It's hard to imagine Little cove without Rodger. He is apart of my memories of what Maine is. Maine is for me a place to relax, big strong pine trees, screeming loons and a wonderful family who lived next door. If I didn't see Rodger, I heard his big jolly voice always laughing and asking/caring about others. He was such a love!
I am so sorry for your loss and I share in your grief.

Mr. Derby, Roger, neighbor, friend, father, veteran, a man of many titles to many people, always kind, generous, and friendly. Under Roger's wing, the "Derby Tribe" stretched throughout the community, everyone was included. Summertime brought Roger to Maine where he would zoom around in his boat calling out to each neighbor as he passed by...his enthusiasm was contagious.
Dearest Roger,
Your voice will always echo through the hearts and hills of Little Cove.

Jan,
While I never met you father, over the years that we have worked together and know each other, I had the opportunity to learn from you how special he was as you always spoke so highly of him. I am so sorry for your sudden loss. My heart goes out to you, Jessica and the rest of your family.
