Lowell Spring Obituary

Of Plymouth, 93, on September 27th at home. A cranberry grower since 1939, he and his sister lived in a converted 1 1/2 story cranberry screen house at the bog side in Manomet. A long time conservationist-minded person, he maintained a woodland and open space environment suitable for wildlife, birds and animals. He also maintained water reservoir areas stocked with fish, for public enjoyment by many, including ice skaters in the winter. He was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman when there was a surplus of wildlife to be thinned down. He and his sister shared a hobby of landscaping over 160 different varieties of trees and shrubs, many over 40 years old. A collector of Indian artifacts from Indian Hill and Indian Brook, and adjacent old Indian village sites, he was a true outdoorsman with many interests, and a lifetime supporter of biodiversity in nature. Best friends and family of Kathy Mann, Marcia and Bob Kelley, Betty Persons and Peggy Anne Gagne and her husband. All services are private. On line condolences may be made at www: richarddavisfuneralhome.com.
