Mr. Matera was a kind man, who when my father died in 1947 my mother had no income my sister was told to leave school and go to work, which she did. Someone told my mother to contact mr. Matera and he gave my mother a bag of flour sugar a pound of. Butter and eggs, I don't know if it was once every month or week . which made her very happy and she made pasta, cookies bread and we all ate . I was 7 years old, my brother 12 , my older brother 15 , and my sister 16. I'm sure God is rewarding him now.

Mr. Matera,
Sir, I didn't know you, but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
