George McCarthy Obituary

Of West Peabody, formerly of Saugus, October 1, 2007, age 75. Beloved husband of Nancy Kelly. Father of six children from a previous marriage, daughters Margaret (Duffy), Suzanne, Kathleen, Christine (Kidney); sons George and Gregory, and 15 grandchildren. Brother of Francis of Nahant, Robert of Costa Mesa, CA, and the late William, killed in action on Iwo Jima in W.W. II. Mr. McCarthy was a Korean War Navy Veteran. After 26 years at GE in Lynn, he formed his own manufacturer's Representative Company, from which he retired after 22 years. Visiting hours for friends and family on Thursday, October 4 from 4 until 8 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., PEABODY Facility. Private cremation with no Funeral Services planned afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations to Friends of the Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960. Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
