86, of Framingham, October 4, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Thelma R. (Newell) Welch, who died in December of 2000. Devoted father of John J. Welch of Gales Ferry, CT and Jeanne Newell Chapman and her husband James of Sterling. Also survived by a sister, Mary Read of Warwick, Rhode Island and 5 grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristine, and Kathryn Chapman, Brendan J. and Meghan J. Welch. Funeral Mass Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Bridget's Church, 830 Worcester Rd, (Route 9 East) Framingham. Committal services and burial will follow at 11:15 am. in St. Mary's Cemetery in Holden. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., FRAMINGHAM on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Framingham Animal Humane Society, 30 Pond St., Ashland, P.O. Mr. Welch,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
