Bob was a husband and father first and yet he always found the time to help and encourage others. I worked with Bob at Bard and owe him so much. He was one of those people who made life more fun just by being him.

To Bob's family, never have I met a man so proud of his family, who spoke so lovingly of them and seemed to be so connected to his wife and children. Your time with him was too short but there can be no doubt about the quality of that time you had with him. We talked often about our trips to Ireland and I will miss our gentle sparring about the superior beauty of Galway versus Bantry Bay. I will always remember him and I'm sure I will hear his voice in my head the next time I walk the shoreline ....
"If you ever go across the sea to Ireland,
Then maybe at the closing of your day,
You will sit and watch the moon rise over Claddagh,
And see the sun go down on Galway Bay."

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, thank you for sharing him with us.

Jacoboson family,
From all of us here at the Chesterton Houston Service Center, we offer our condolences to your family at this time of difficulty. We always looked forward to Bob's visits here in Houston, even though it was business, we new there would be plenty of humor mixed in.
As my direct supervisor, Bob will be one that I tell many stories about regarding his professionalism and mentorship, always with a genuine personal touch. He was a good man.

Dear, Mary, Andrew, Kristen and Catherine:
My thoughts are with you through these hard times. As you know, I worked very closely with Bob, being his Administrative Assistant for a little over 2 years. But, I felt like I knew him forever as soon as I began working for him. He was always working on having me strive for better and getting me involved in as much as possible, even, if I didn't really want to. :) Along with that, he showed true care and concern for my sons and myself, every day. He was there for me, and would talk me into telling him about some of my hardships I would be going through at the time, and have a way of making me feel better after and comforted. He would tell me "This too shall pass". He also ALWAYS would tell many great stories about his family and how lucky he was to have them. Please always think of the fond memories you have and how lucky you are to have had such a loving and devoted man in your life. His angel will always be around.

I was giving the gift to have worked for Bob a short amount of time. If I had worked for Bob a life time it still would not have been long enough.. I will keep his memory alive within me forever.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

To Bobby Jacobson's family:

I was very saddened to hear about Bobby's passing. I am sorry I don't know any of you, because I grew up with Bobby. We were neighbors in Woburn and our families were very close back then.
I have read what people are saying about Bob, and I want you to know that he was the same when he was a kid. We all played together, both Ralph and Bobby were very close to my heart growing up. Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss and know he is at peace now, but will never be forgotten - not even by his very old friends.

God Bless you all.

Dear Mary, Kristen, Andy and Cate,

I have been at an absolute loss for words since I heard of Bob’s passing. I just can’t believe someone so full of life, humor, passion and decency could be gone. The memorial service for Bob clearly showed the love people felt for him and the impact he had on so many lives. The thing he impressed upon me most was his love of family and how he seized every moment of every day. We should all live life the way Bob did and, like him, not take ourselves so seriously. I loved my friend and will miss him dearly. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love Marianne

Mary, Kristen, Cate and Andrew,

Words can not exress the sadness I feel at hearing of the loss of Bob. I worked with Bob on the MSD Senior Staff for several years and we developed a great working relationship that soon developed into friendship as well.

An area of mutual enjoyment was our work together for the annual PPC Golf charity event. Bob first sponsored me and then got involved himself.

After I moved on in the Chesterton Company, Bob and I stayed in contact when ever I was back at the factory. We then shared another great experience, we became Grandfathers together under very similar circumstances.

I will miss seeing Bob around the office, but wanted you to know he will not be forgotten. His memory will live on and that is what you will need to hold on to during these dark days and into the future.

Our family's prayers are with you and we hope God can give you a peace that surpasses all human understanding at his time. God Bless you all!

Dear Mary, Andy, Kristin and Cate:

I am so very sad to learn of Bob’s sudden passing. You are in my heart and prayers.

I knew Bob from our time together at Chesterton. Although I recently retired, I missed Bob. He was a true professional with a great sense of humor and genuine caring for his co-workers. We would frequently have discussions about work but he always wrapped up his conversations with a personal story showing his love for his beautiful wife Mary and magnificent children. He was so proud.

We shared gardening stories and bird watching. My husband built our bluebird houses using Bob’s directions ~ no bluebirds yet, maybe in the spring. Every time I look at them I will think of Bob.

Sincerely,

Steve Chapman

So very sorry to hear about Bob. A great 'Hockey Dad' - so very proud of all of you. Cate, I can still see your Dad's pride everytime you picked up the puck and skated down the ice, did a little checking or occasionally ended up in the penalty box - he was so proud of your every move. Treasure your memories. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mary and Family,
Bob had a such great energy about him. Positive and funny he could always make you laugh and tell a great story, or two, or three... He will really be missed! What comes to mind are the gardening stories and green thumb advice that he'd share while we would sit outside eating lunch. Of all the seeds and bulbs that he shared with his friends and co-workers, I can only imagine how many flowers are now growing across our yards that came from him. My deepest and most sincere sympathies are with you.

We’ve lost a great guy and friend, but we’ll never lose the great memories of the time we’ve spent with him. We met Bob through hockey and over the years we spent many, many hours with him in rinks while our kids played together. And for a number of summers we took on our kids in friendly father – child hockey games, it sure was easy when the kids were little, but as they grew bigger and stronger I know Bob and I were both glad they took it easy on us. It’s memories like that, of hanging out and being friends with such a great guy that none of us will forget, and it’s those memories of Bob that will always bring a smile to my face. We’ll miss Bob, but we won’t forget him.

Dear Jacobson Family,

I too worked with Bob at Chesterton. Though my time spent with him was limited, he always stopped and took the time to say hello and give a smile. Words cannot express how much that smile will be missed.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand - Old Irish Blessing

Mary, Andy, Kristen, Cate & Adrian,

This is so very hard for all of us. Here at Chesterton Bob interacted with so many people at so many levels. Bob hired me shortly after he joined AWC and for me it will be the day-to-day interaction where he shared his sense of humor that I will miss the most.
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you as we all struggle to come to terms with this.

I had the pleasure and privelege of working with Bob on various projects. He was a consumate professional and a pleasure to work with. We also shared bird watching observations, talked about our back yard flowers, music and beer making. He spoke of his family with love and pride. It's still hard to believe he is gone but I'm grateful for the memories I have of him. I cannot imagine the pain and sorrow your family is experiencing at this time.

Please accept my most sincere and heart felt condolences.

We are saddened, and shocked in learning of this terrible event. Bob was a great leader, and handled his relationships with those who worked for him in a very personal manner. It was Bob's way of expressing his concern for all, and by letting people know that we are all here for one purpose. We work together to reach the goals we have set forth.
May we all take something from the relationship Bob has made for us, somethnig from his character. We are all better for having had a person like Bob in our lives.
