Dear Ruth and Family-
It is only today that we at the Southeast Area Office of the Red Cross are learning of the loss of one of our most valued and beloved
volunteers. A donation made in his
name today alerted us to your loss and we share in this grieving process. However, we know that Ron will continue to live in our hearts and memories for a very long time. No one could meet Ron and not have a lasting impression, especially of his smile and humor. Please find some comfort in knowing that your Red Cross family is here for you. Ron will be remembered as a model disaster volunteer with abundance of energy and a dedication to helping others less fortunate both near and far. We will miss him deeply and we know he fought the good fight and will continue to smile down upon us all.

Mr. Dutton,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

To Katherine...Ray stopped by the house in Auburn Thursday and told us of the sad news of your Dad. I will not be able to go to Hanover for the memorial service but wanted to write these words for you and yours.
I have only fond memories of your Father and growing up next door to him in Hanover. I remember your Dad (and Mum ) building their new home. I remember going to the drive in with your Dad and Mum. I also remember our trips into Boston with your Dad driving us to his "Parking Lot job". What fun we would have for the day in Boston and then we'd hitch a ride home with your Dad! I will hold on to those great memories as I'm sure you will. You must have lots of them to comfort you.
Ruth...Thank you so much for being such great neighbors to my parents and us. Ron was such a great person to us all. I know that you two were such best friends and you will miss him but you have such wonderful memories to carry you through the days to come.
I'm so glad that Ron was a part of my "growing up years". He set a fine example for me of a great, loving "family man".
Love and Peace, Christine (Duffy) Watkins
