Catherine Egan Obituary

76, of 401 Sandy Valley Rd. Westwood, MA, formerly of Altoona, PA, died Friday, October 26, 2007, at the residence of her daughter in Baltimore, MD, unexpectedly. Mrs. Egan was born in Williamsport, PA on April 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Howard and Lucille (Dunlap) Lumpp. She married Vincent M. Egan September 18, 1954, in Williamsport, PA. He died July 16, 2001. She retired from Weston Studio of Design, Weston, MA with several years service and she was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Catholic Church, Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Egan graduated from Williamsport High School and Lycoming College. She was devoted to her family. Kate enjoyed golfing and playing bridge and was a former member of Scotch Valley Country Club. Kate is survived by a daughter Cynthia Egan, Baltimore, MD; and a son Douglas Vincent Egan, Bedford, PA. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Mrs. Egan was preceded in death by a grandson Douglas Egan and her sister Caroline Lumpp Hall and brother in law, Richard Hall. A Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, PA at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 with Fr. J. Donald Moonan officiating. Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona, PA. Friends will be received Tuesday, October 30, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home 1222 13th Ave., ALTOONA, PA 16601 where a Vigil For the Deceased will be celebrated during visitation hours. In memory of Kate please make contributions to the Douglas Egan Memorial Fund, c/o Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund, P.O. Box 55158, Boston, MA 02205.
