Charles Nyhan Obituary

92, a life-long resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away on Friday, November 9th, 2007 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lawrence, MA to the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. and Mary (Manning) Nyhan. Mr. Nyhan was educated in Saint Mary's School and was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1932. He was a parishioner of Saint Patrick's Church in Lawrence, MA for 67 years, where he was an Usher for many of those years. Mr. Nyhan served in the United States Army during W.W. II. He worked for H.P. Hood & Sons as a Foreman for some 25 plus years. He later became Assistant City Clerk for the City of Lawrence in 1959, and then became City Clerk for the City of Lawrence for some 30 plus years, his last day was March 31st, 1989 and his retirement took place on April 20th, 1989. His loving wife of 67 years Mrs. Mary C. (Buckley) Nyhan of Lawrence, MA. Daughter: Sheila Marie Nyhan of Del Ray Beach, FL, son Charles "Chuck" F. Nyhan, Jr. of Truro, Cape Cod and of Del Ray Beach, FL. Daughter: Mary Ellen and her husband Donald J. Pelletier of Lawrence, MA. Son: John B. and his wife Pamela (Shattuck) Nyhan of Hampton, NH. Daughter: Anne-Marie Nyhan-Doherty and her husband Timothy J. Doherty of Lawrence, MA. Brother: J. Donald Nyhan and his wife Patricia of Del Ray Beach, FL; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: Walter J., John C. and Philip A. Nyhan. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 11 AM in Saint Patrick's Church in Lawrence, MA. His burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. Family and Friends may call on Monday, November 12th, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., LAWRENCE, MA.
