Dear Brittney and Nick,
I sent a message months ago, but I just noticed in never made it on line. I went to MSJA with your mom. I was so sad to hear of her passing. I still can't believe it, so I can only imagine how you must feel. Just grow up to be the wonderful people your mom knew you would be, it is the best tribute you can give her. We are having our 20th year reunion in November 2008 and we will all be thinking of your mom, Darleen.

To Brittney/Nick and the entire Shamhart family:
I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I attended Mount with Darleen and know she battled illness then with head held high and strong spirit. I haven't seen her since graduation but when I saw notice, my heart sank. She was a kind person and a good friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Darlenes family
I met Darlene when our kids were on the same soccer team. I used to drive Nick home from school to give Darlene a hand. In that time I got to know her fairly well. I know that she gave it a good fight. She has 2 wonderful children that she loved very much. I hope in time your memories will ease your pain. My sincerest condolences.

Brittany & Nicholas, I was so sorry to hear your mom passed away. Brittany, I know this is hard to understand but your mom was sick for a long time. Now she is at peace. I know you would not want her to suffer. When I lost my sister someone sent me a card that read, "Have faith in knowing that a loving God knows best" That made me feel better and hopefully it will ease your pain. Erica and I are ALWAYS just a phone call away.

I never did have the chance to meet Darleen, but I did know her daughter, Brittany, and if she is anything like Brittany, I'm sure she was a wonderful, charming, and caring individual, who had a great personality and alot of love for others.

I did not know Darleen, but I had the pleasure of meeting her wonderful son, Nicholas. I can only imagine that a woman who raised such a wonderful and kind boy was amazing in herself. Our heartfelt sympathy to Nicholas and the rest of his family.
