Frank Scott Obituary

Died Tuesday at home. Born and raised in Cranston, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and graduated from Brown University in 1950. He is survived by a loving family: his wife of 56 years Barrie (MacNeil) Scott; son Mark F. Scott, M.D., and his wife Diane of East Greenwich; son Neil W. Scott of Sarasota, FL; daughter Pamela S. Monaghan & her husband Michael of East Greenwich; and grandsons Mark F. Scott II & U.S. Army 2nd Lt. Jonathan P. Scott, and granddaughter Dana M. Scott, all of East Greenwich. He was a son of the late Longino & Luigia (Palmaccio) Saccoccio & is survived by his sister Mary Saccoccio and brothers Augustine Saccoccio & Philip F. Saccoccio, all of Cranston. He was predeceased by his sister Roslyn S. Renner and brothers Rinaldo Saccoccio, Harry A. Saccoccio, & Felice P. Saccoccio. He was a registered Landscape Architect and was involved in building & developing numerous residential & commercial properties throughout RI, MA, & CT. He served 30 years as Chair of the Cranston School Buildings Committee, overseeing the development, expansion, and improvement of public schools in that city. He also volunteered his considerable expertise with various civic and religious organizations throughout Rhode Island. A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated Saturday at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave., East Greenwich (95S to 4S to 401E to 2nd St. to Fourth Ave). Burial will follow in The Scott-Monaghan Family Cemetery, East Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to either Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 808, Hudson, MA 01749-0808, or Brown University Medical School, P.O. Box 1893, Brown University, Providence, RI 02912, would be appreciated. Arrangements by The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, Warwick.
