Dear Paulette;
I send my sincerest sympathy and good thoughts to you at this very sad time. Losing a parent is an indescribable moment until you experience that very deep loss yourself.

I hope you will be comforted with the surety that, as the oldest child, you forged the trail for those who came after you, while being a daughter that brought your father deep pride and joy. You were a very bright light in his orbit.

With love,
Joan Morgan

Mr. Roach,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and the Korean War and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. The 3rd Infantry Division is one of the most decorated Divisions in the U.S. Army and saw action in WW II starting in North Africa in 1942 and ending in Germany in 1945. The 3rd ID also provided valuable service in Korea where it served as a covering force for the 1st Marine Division and U.S. Army 7th Infantry Division and the X Corps as well as over 100,000 Korean refugees as they withdrew to and evacuated from the port of Hungnam during Christmas 1950 under strong Chinese Communist Force attacks. I'm sorry for going on and on but when ever I read about what men did in defense of Our Country, I am always in awe.
