Uncle Vin, my Godfather, my mentor, my confidante. Oh Captain, my Captain - I'll never forget those dinners upstairs, while over a glass of after-dinner brandy or Scotch, you would stare at me pensively, and ask, "So Billy, what can you tell us about Gorbachev and what he's REALLY up to? When will we attack?" You'd give me one of your patented, sly laughs, but I knew you weren't kidding. One of my oldest and fondest memories is when you took me to a Saturday matinee at the Studio Cinema to watch the Lone Ranger - it was in COLOR!!! I will never forget you, I will always miss you, I will always cherish you.

Mr. Cardinale,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

My Uncle Vinny - You always delighted in stimulating conversations, funny sarcasm, our "talks" about Humphrey Bogart and Jane Alexander. It's snowing and I'll miss you...
Your loving niece,
Ellen
