Ira Lawrence Halpert

87, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital, West Palm Beach, FL, after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and formally of Danvers, Lynnfield and Saugus he lived in Florida for the past 23 years. He was the husband of the late Blanche Vivienne (Davis) Halpert. A graduate of Brandeis University, Dr. Halpert owned the Saugus Animal Hospital where he practiced veterinary medicine for over 40 years. He was a member of the American Veterinary Assoc. and received an honorary degree from Tufts Veterinary school. Dr. I. L. Halpert was a devoted father to Richard and Joanne Halpert of Pembroke and Candace and Stephen Maes of Everett, MA. He was a wonderful grandfather to Benjamin and David Maes. He is also survived by his life partner Helen T. Vine of West Palm Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews.
