We only knew Dick for three short years at Win San. He was such a great person and he will be sadly missed by all of the Win San Gang. I am so glad last year we were able to come up and visit him and take him to supper at Salvatores. We all enjoyed it so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

We were so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was "The Mayor of Win San"---He loved it here.

We so much enjoyed the daily "Happy Hours " outside his Condo---Truly, Happy Hours.

We enjoyed his conversation and company,His always great personality and, of course, his wonderful sense of humor.

It was good that he was where he wanted to be and that he enjoyed himself right up to the time he left for home. We know he is in a better place and we are so glad that we knew him.

We will miss him.

To the Richard D Curtis family,

Mr. Curtis was my physical education teacher way back in 1965 at Williamsville High School. He was friendly and cheerful and always had the respect from his gym classes. He was a super nice guy and excellent PE teacher. He will always be fondly remembered by his students.

To Mr. Curtis's family
He was a real mentor. I had him as a teacher (when it was just plain old Williamsvile) and then he hired me later as a coach in the district. He truly was one of the greats.

Dick was the first person to welcome me to the neighborhood when I moved next door in 1999. He was always kind and thoughtful. A great neighbor and man! He will be missed. May you memories last a lifetime!

I have had the priviledge of knowing Dick through Win San. My sister and I were fortunate to have him as our winter renter (A104). He treated the condo as if it was his own home. We were lucky to find someone so caring. I loved opening the "owner's" closet when I visited in April to see all that Dick left. It was clear that what I had heard about him being the best party host was true. He enjoyed all the fun of having people around him and being able to celebrate with everyone. He truly was the life of the party. We are grateful we were able to see him one more time in Hospice to share memories of Win San. The sea shells we brought to him made him smile. He loved Win San and everyone loved him. The stories about "Dick" will continue for a long time. He will be dearly missed.

What a great friend Dick was to all of us at Win-San in New Smyrna Beach. His "happy hour" tradition, super bowl parties and never-ending smile endeared him to everyone. We had a wonderful winter this last year with him and were so grateful he could spend it with us.
